Job overview

We are looking to employ a DT Technician to assist the class teacher with the setting up of and preparation for lessons. The role will include the tidying up and clearing away after lessons. The successful applicant will be required to support the DT teacher during lessons.


This is a part time role for 15 hours per week, term time only.


Previous experience ina similar role would be an advantage.

Shapwick School is situated on the delightful Somerset levels, near to the coast, the Mendips, Quantocks and Exmoor.  As a CReSTeD category ‘SP’ School, Shapwick specialises in supporting boys and girls aged 8 to 18 years whose education has been adversely affected by dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia.  We employ a team of specialist teachers, speech & language therapists and occupational therapists who deliver to small classes (average size is 8) and individuals.

As one of the first specialist schools for children with dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia the school is very proud of its staffs’ experience at understanding each child’s individual needs and helping them to grow into confident, skilled and happy adults ready to take the next stage in their life.
