We are seeking to appoint a conscientious and reliable individual to add to our boarding team. Huish is one of only a few state Sixth Form Colleges in England that offers accommodation. Oak House is a warm and friendly boarding house that prides itself on being a home away from home for boarders from both the UK and internationally. The Duty houseparent is essential to the boarding team, supporting the Assistant houseparent in the day to day running of the house, including attending evening meals when on duty, supervising study times and completing one to one meeting with the students.

· Salary: £12.50 per/hr (increasing in April)
· Hours: 10 hrs per week, term time only (38 weeks)
· Days: Friday evening 5pm – 9pm, Sunday 3pm – 9pm.
· Start Date: ASAP
· Closing date: 9.00am 24th February 2025
· Interview Date: 3rd March 2025 PM

Richard Huish College is a Sixth Form College situated in Taunton, the County town of Somerset. Huish prides itself on its academic excellence and strong reputation across Somerset and the Southwest, it is more than a Sixth Form College, it is a place where students can expand their horizons and develop their futures. Huish is also one of the best Sixth Form Colleges in the country, with strong outcomes and a long history of ‘adding value’ to students.
Huish has over 2,500 students studying A Levels, Level 2 and 3 vocational courses, Apprenticeships and professional qualifications (up to Level 7). Huish is proud to have established and be part of the Richard Huish Education Group, working collaboratively with a local 11-16 academy and five primary schools. All students are supported by a strong ethos of personal attention and support, helping students to achieve the best results they are capable of.
The College is based on a beautiful, green campus which it is continually developing to improve the learning environment of students. Recent building projects include a sports hall, Visual Arts Centre and state of the art Music Centre.
