Are you considering Early Career Teacher (ECT) Professional Development Opportunities?

The Academies Enterprise Trust are looking for Early Careers Teachers to join our talent pool. By signing up you will have access to any opportunities that are available in London, Essex, South West, West Midlands & North. You will only need to sign up once and we will manage the rest of the process for you.

As one of the largest trusts, with 57 academies across all phases and settings, AET are able to offer a rich contextualised experience to all ECTs, along with opportunities to build a professional learning network like no other.

As part of our ECT Development Programme, we offer:

1. Individuality and collaboration

All AET schools are unique, we have Primary, Secondary, all through and Special schools. As a result of this we offer subject-specific and phase-specific support, designed with the PTI (Prince’s Teaching Institute) and subject matter experts.

2. Flexibility

All ECTs will have access to online Learner Management Systems for the ECF programme but also a wider set of skills and knowledge -currently over 450 courses are available across a wide range of subjects, in addition to the ECF.

3. Support from a trained mentor

At AET, we acknowledge the importance of ECTs having a trained mentor to support them throughout their Early Career Framework (ECF) two-year development programme. All mentors are provided with a high quality development programme of their own based on an Instructional Coaching model to best support their ECTs.

4. Subject Specialist

The AET teachers and leaders who will support you are experts in their field and subject and we combine this with research-led professional learning.

5. Support from Ambition Institute

At AET, Ambition Institute supports early career teachers through the implementation of the Early Career Framework (ECF). This framework ensures that teachers at the beginning of their careers receive two years of evidence based development, allowing them to grow and thrive.

Ambition Institute has developed a carefully structured and evidence informed curriculum for teachers and mentors, focusing not only on what teachers learn but also on how they learn.

Through the implementation of the Early Career Framework, early career teachers at AET academies benefit from additional support and training, including one-to-one mentoring from experienced colleagues. Mentors themselves also receive support and guidance on how to effectively fulfil their roles and assist their early career teachers.

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) within the AET will take part in face to face conferences and virtual clinics to ensure they are connected to the AET network at all times alongside gaining access to the innovative Steplab platform, specifically designed by teachers for teachers. This accessible learning platform provides structured support, ensuring that mentors can deliver high-quality mentoring without increasing their workload.

Closing Date: 16th July 2023

AET was established in 2008 and is now a national network of 57 primary, secondary and special academies. We are proud of our diverse and inclusive network of schools which span nearly every region in the country.

This is a hugely exciting time to be joining the organisation, and as we pivot from being in turnaround mode to becoming a high performance organisation on the pathway to sustainable excellence. This will see us building our in-house education improvement capacity and expertise, making sure that our schools have all the support they need to deliver an excellent education for every child, every day.

Our people are our single greatest resource and we want to make sure we are creating the optimum environment and conditions so that everyone in AET can do their very best work. We will only deliver on our promise of excellence for all of our children if we attract, develop and retain the very best talent in the country and surround them with exceptional development throughout their careers.

We want people on our team who are excited by scale and the prospect of having a deep and lasting impact on the lives of tens of thousands of children. We also want people who are intellectually rigorous, stay curious, and generous enough to be committed to the messy challenge of collaboration.

AET has an exciting future ahead and by joining us on this journey, you will have an unparalleled opportunity to make a lasting and meaningful impact on the children and young people in our schools.
