Job title:  EYFS Coordinator and Early Childhood Teacher

Location:  ISL, London

Reporting to:  Head of Primary

Outline

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Coordinator is responsible for supporting the ongoing implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage in the school. 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Early Years Foundation Stage Coordinator is expected to:

Knowledge and Understanding the EYFS

· Be knowledgeable about the EYFS and keep abreast of new developments through reading of the appropriate publications and correspondence, including the EYFS Handbook

· Inform all staff involved in the Early Childhood (EC) about the about the requirements and practices of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile 

· Provide information and professional development on the EYFS as required

· Ensure information about the profile is visible and easily accessible to all staff members, e.g. copies of assessment reference sheets are displayed in and around the learning environment

· Inform parents about the EYFSP through meetings, information letters, assessment and reporting

· Attend Local Education Authority (LEA) cluster and moderation meetings as required

Collection and management of evidence and data

· Manage the collection of data and observations from all stakeholders in the process, i.e. specialist teachers, teaching assistants, parents

· Enter judgments into the E-Profiles database each term (three times per year) Enter Entry and Exit data on the database for the Borough of Hounslow (twice a year).

· Meet at least once per term with specialist teachers and teaching assistants to collaboratively agree scale point judgments

· Store evidence of achievement in portfolios and observations booklets Store evidence of goal attainment in digital portfolios and in Learning Journal where applicable.

· Ensure that evidence collected is dated and annotated appropriately

· Liaise with the Head of Primary to assure the quality, accuracy and reliability of data before submission to the LEA

· Keep an electronic record EYFSP data on the school server to be submitted quarterly

· Maintain a folder containing copies of EYFS data, support documents, procedures and correspondence

Moderation Visits

· Prepare appropriately for support and moderation visits as per pre-support and moderation visit paperwork from the LEA

· Respond to recommendations and advice from support and moderation visits and maintain a high level of academic excellence

Planning, Teaching and Assessment

· Ensure planning, reporting and assessment practices reflect knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the EYFS

· To participate and plan engaging Units of Inquiry with the PYP Co-ordinator
