Kensington Learning Space (KLS)

KLS is a brand new forward thinking learning space situated in the west of Bangkok City. Only a short distance (10 minutes) from the BTS (Sky train) with easy access to the world-famous, historic and vibrant city of Bangkok! The area and local community is steeped in Thai tradition, set in lush greenery with a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere.

The purpose built space with a futuristic design aims to offer innovative, creative learning in a fun way. The Space is part of the Kensington community which includes an award winning kindergarten school next door. Whilst Kensington International Kindergarten (https://kensington.ac.th) continues to attract government and educational attention from throughout SE Asia, KLS aims to not only complement our Kensington community but also accomplish something very different and very unique.

Kensington Learning Space will be providing enrichment sessions focused on a variety of areas for students from 6 months to 11 years. Our aim is to research and use the best curriculums from around the world. These will be taught in a creative and fun way, ensuring that every child who walks through our doors receives progressive education to prepare them for the future. 

Just like Kensington International Kindergarten, KLS will embrace its community, and our parents will play an active role as they too become part of the ‘Kensington Family.’ Parent participation is recognised as an integral part of our education process.

Bangkok is an exciting, iconic city at the very heart of SE Asia and abounds with rich cultural experiences. Thailand offers excellent leisure and travel opportunities, with countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Myanmar, all just an hour away. Position: 

Early childhood educator / Early years teacher/ Creative childhood teacher / Leading childhood educators

We seek a fully qualified, experienced and inspirational Early Years teacher who is an energetic, highly inspired and motivated person. Someone who is passionate about childcare and education and is committed to achieving the best outcomes for all students by creating a stimulating, positive and child-centered ethos. 

The position is for full-time only, commencing 1st January 2020 - 31st December 2021 (24 months contract).

Requirements: 

Fluent English speaker

Excellent knowledge of the EYFS, IB, PYP, Reggio Emilia or Finish curriculum 

BEd Early years (Hons)

Early years experience ( from 1 - 5 years old)

Knowledge of Makaton, Phonics and other language interventions would be an advantage

EAL experience would be an advantage

SEND experience would be an advantage

Year 1 experience would be an advantage

Forest school training would be an advantage

Job Role:

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a variety of areas with the space and would be expected to work collaboratively with our KLS team in leading forward thinking education for all our students in number of areas:

- Lead multidisciplinary lessons focused on language and communication, and art

- Create and organize engaging play group sessions for our youngest students

- Develop lessons for our Forest School outdoor learning environment

- Be part of new and exciting curriculum projects.

We are offering an opportunity to be part of a very professional team of forward thinking progressive educators.

Working hours:

As KLS aims to complement other forms of education we have created our working hours based on this. Our centre will run sessions during the day for our youngest students and after school for our older students.

Classes will also run on a Saturday and Sunday with the school closed on a Monday. Our innovative learning will occur on a 4 term cycle. Our KLS working calendar can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Working days is 5 days per week (3 weekdays plus Saturday and Sunday)  

Remuneration:

The successful candidate will receive competitive salary and benefits based on their experience and qualifications. This will include:

● Competitive salary ( THB 65,000 - THB 75,000) dependent on experience and qualification

● Modern comfortable accommodation nearby to the school area or Housing allowance provided

● Annual flight allowance
