Early Years Educator

We are looking for an Early Years Educator to join the Nursery team. 

The School: The school is looking for an experienced Early Years Educator who can take on the role of keyworker for 15 children and be committed to help with planning activities, observing children and writing up reports in order to create targets for each child and use observations to support children individually. 

Your new role: You will be required to work with early years children in our nursery for 3 Year olds as an Early Years Educator. You will be 

· working with around 15 key children at group times

· planning and implementing activities in line with the early years curriculum

· carrying out creative activities with children

· you will be assisting with lunch times,

· assisting with toileting, toilet training and nappy changing where needed

· completing reports and observations,

· ensuring health and safety standards are met,

· following policies and procedures and interacting with parents

The ideal candidate

· A childcare qualification—NNEB, BTEC, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare 

· At least 6 months experience in Early Years (Nursery/Reception)

· Familiar with the Early Years Framework

· Be able to use resources and devices to fit different learning styles

· Be able to work with students on a one to one and small group basis

· Paediatric first aid (desirable but training given if not)

Salary: Hays pay scale - scale point 24 – 31, depending on qualification and experience. (term time only). Salary will be pro rata for term time and hours of contract

Hours: 35 hour contract: 8am-3.30pm Monday to Friday

Based in Southwark, south-east London, Charles Dickens Primary School takes pride in teaching children aged 3-11 how to care for the environment, as well as each other. Around 295 students attend the mixed-gender community school. It is a large school situated in a culturally, socially and ethnically mixed community. Teachers and staff support pupils with special educational needs or disabilities to make sure every child makes progress, both academically and emotionally. Dance classes with practitioners from Rambert are also available at the school.
