St George’s Nursery Dragons, based at St George’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy are seeking to appoint an Early Year Educator. You will be passionate about working with children, watching them develop under your care and seeking to build your career with a reputable nursery. 

You will be a driven and committed individual with a child centred approach, hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years education or equivalent (minimum requirement). Excellent written and spoken English are essential along with experience working in a similar role.  

The applicant needs to be:

  • A key person, do observations, reports, prepare the learning materials, prepare and maintain environment, planning activities, participate in other events such as parents evening, sports day, trips, outings, Mothers Day and Fathers Day events
  • Attend weekly after hours meetings, be flexible with hours to accommodate the nursery’s branch needs,
  • A knowledge of the EYFS, some understanding and experience of SEN
  • Have all the relevant qualifications ideally, safeguarding, 1st Aid, Health & Safety. 
  • Willing to attend relevant CPD training.  
  • Very aware of varying age and stage of development, cultural differences, being knowledgeable and understanding of how the curriculum may need to be adapted to meet the needs of all children
  • Work in partnership with parents providing a positive learning experience for all children regardless of race, culture, or religious background.


We are seeking candidates with:

  • An NVQ3 in childcare or equivalent
  • 1 years post qualifying experience as a Key person is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • A sound working knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • An awareness of planning, observing and record keeping procedures

St George’s Catholic Primary School is a voluntary-aided primary school for pupils aged 4-11. The Roman Catholic school is located in Sudbury, in the north-west London borough of Harrow.

St George’s has about 470 students, and is maintained by the Diocese of Westminster in partnership with the London Borough of Harrow. In addition to the primary school, St George’s has since 2002 operated a 30-place day nursery called St George's Dragons.
