Notre Dame Preparatory School and BlueBelles Nursery

The school is rightly proud of its historical tradition and ethos which is dedicated to opening children’s eyes to the joy of learning, enabling them to develop to the full their natural ability to explore ideas, discover skills and enjoy the feeling of ‘belonging’ within a very special community.

Notre Dame Preparatory School has over 300 pupils aged between 2 and 11, and offers an extensive and varied curriculum with exciting opportunities in extra-curricular programmes – details of which can be found on this site.

Subject specialist teachers explore every facet of academic life and the school is especially proud of its strengths in ICT, drama, art, music, science, languages and sport. These are areas at the very core of self-expression and they are enthusiastically carried through into the Senior School.

The curriculum has breadth, depth and relevance. It is an enhanced version of the National Curriculum, designed to provide a truly rounded, challenging preparatory education. The girls learn how to get the best from themselves and grow in motivation, confidence and independence to excel, enjoy and achieve.

An extensive development programme has taken place over the last eight years, with the opening of the new Learning Resource Centre with impressive ICT and library facilities in 2003, new science building in 2007, and BlueBelles Nursery in 2008. The complete refurbishment of Burwood House, our listed manor house, its Pavilion and Summer House has further enhanced the beauty of the 17-acre site, providing the girls and staff with a spectacular learning environment in which to flourish.
