Job overview

EARLY YEARS EDUCATOR / TEACHING ASSISTANT

Required for September 2017

Clifton High School is an academically selective, co-educational, independent day school for over 570 pupils aged 3-18 years. Situated on a beautiful Bristol site, we operate the Diamond Edge Model of education underpinned by a strong pastoral and family ethos.

We are looking to appoint an Early Years Educator / Teaching Assistant to work, in the main, with a reception class in our EYFS department and across the primary age range.  Predominantly a term time role, additional days/hours will be required during the School holidays.

We would like to hear from candidates who have two years’ experience of working effectively in a day care or education setting.  A Level 3 qualification in Early Years (e.g. Level 3 NVQ Teaching Assistant qualification, NNEB, CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education, BTEC National Diploma in Childcare Studies) is essential, as are excellent numeracy and literacy skills (minimum level 2, ideally with a grade C English Language and Mathematics).  A warm and positive approach and the ability to use one’s own initiative are essential, as is a demonstrable stability and commitment as evidenced in previous similar roles.  The role will involve classroom learning support, maintaining classroom displays, working in Infant holiday clubs and supporting the teaching and learning of children across the Primary age range.

The successful candidate will enjoy contributing to an excellent working environment for pupils, staff, parents and the wider School community.

Further details can be found at www.cliftonhigh.bristol.sch.uk. Completed application forms should be accompanied by a covering letter of application to the Head of School, Dr Alison Neill and emailed to recruitment@cliftonhigh.bristol.sch.uk

Closing date for applications: Midnight on Monday 1st May 2017

Interviews will be held: Tuesday 9th May 2017

Clifton High School is committed to safeguarding children and young people and expects all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
