Tes is supporting the appointment of a Early Years - KS3 Teacher of Sport (opportunity for Assistant Director of Sport) to join a Girls’ School based in Brighton and Hove.

The role

This is an opportunity for an ambitious Teacher of Sport to play a key role in a thriving Physical Education department, inspiring students and fostering a lifelong love of sport. 

For a more experienced teacher, there is the opportunity to be considered for the position of Assistant Director of Sport where you will also play a pivotal role shaping and enhancing their sporting provision.  

As a Teacher of Sport, you will deliver PE and Games lessons to pupils throughout the Prep School as well as Years 7 to 9 in the Senior School. 

You will be an advocate for Sport at the school and support initiatives to raise the profile of sport throughout the school. 

If you are also interested in the role of Assistant Director of Sport, your responsibilities will include supporting the development of PE and Games across the whole school, with a particular focus on the Prep School.  

You will also assist with the delivery of a high-quality PE curriculum and an extensive co-curricular offer, collaborating with your colleagues in the department, external partners and specialist coaches to enhance the student experience. 

About you

The school are looking for a passionate PE teacher with a proven track record of teaching PE and Games across a range of age groups. A specialism in hockey, netball, football and cricket, would also be desirable.   

Candidates who wish to be considered for the Assistant Director of Sport role will need demonstrable leadership skills, along with previous experience of coordinating fixtures, tournaments, and extra-curricular sports programmes.  

The ability to drive the strategic development of Sport is equally important.
