Early Years Lead

Jewell Academy BournemouthBournemouth

Early Years Lead

Jewell Academy Bournemouth, part of the Aspirations Academies Trust, opened in September 2013 with just Reception and Year 1 pupils. In 2019 the Year 6 pupils at the academy became the first to sit KS2 SATs. Jewell serves the Townsend area of Bournemouth and operates as part of the growing South Coast Aspirations Academies Trust region.

We have a very friendly and welcoming staff, pupils and community. We are looking for someone who is passionate about meeting the individual needs of children, to join our team and continue our drive forwards in the Early Years. More than anything, we want our academy to be filled with people who are enthusiastic about teaching and have things outside teaching they can talk about that will interest and inspire our children.   We pride ourselves on being outward-looking to improve our own practices while boasting a strong internal capacity to reflect and improve.

If we don’t think something will have an impact on children’s learning, we don’t do it.  We are looking for someone who is an experienced Early Years Teacher, looking to move into a leadership role; who is an excellent classroom practitioner and has ambition. The successful candidate will be expected to take on a teaching commitment and work alongside staff within the classroom to ensure that our Early Years provision is of the highest quality.

The post holder will be a key part of the school’s senior leadership team. Our school is organised into strong, supportive teams of classes which will help the successful candidate settle into our school quickly and feel well supported. The teams work closely together to share ideas and workload.

As a Trust we work closely together with our partner academies, local schools and agencies.  The school has a strong commitment to safeguarding (and will expect all candidates to share this commitment and agree to all relevant checks and

procedures) and a clear vision and values geared towards improving outcomes for all our children. There is much more information about our school on our website.

In these strange times, visits to the school are difficult but we can accommodate limited visits after school or please arrange to speak with the head about the role. Please contact the school to arrange a date and time for either of these.

Closing Date: Tuesday 23rd February 2021

Interviews (Provisionally): Thursday 4th March 2021
