Staff have high expectations of children, expecting them to answer questions in complete sentences. This helps all children to make strong progress.’

The role will entail leading the early years’ team to further strengthen the quality of provision in this important year group.  Applicants should:

• be open-minded, dynamic and be able to drive values and ethos for a purposeful and child-led curriculum.

• be able to inspire staff through your positivity and commitment to further build on the success of Early Years’ team

• be committed to achieving progress for all pupils in early years

• be a reflective leader, with a caring and supportive approach.

As a large, three form entry primary school working, as part of a multi-academy trust, we can offer:

• A relocation allowance

• Children who enjoy learning

• The opportunity to work alongside experienced leaders

• A pledge to grow your talent through quality CPD, including access to leadership development, with the support of our Trust and its Teaching School

• A vibrant learning environment

• A range of benefits and a commitment to staff wellbeing and recognition through our Trust people strategy

• Dedicated and caring staff including an effective support staff team to enable you to concentrate on your teaching

Hill Farm is an increasingly popular, large three form entry primary school and Nursery in the North West of Coventry.

We are passionate about our children having access to teaching and learning experiences of the highest quality in all areas and at all ages. Our curriculum is relevant, challenging and engaging and our children love to learn. Behaviour at our school is very good and parents/carers are supportive of all that we do.

In September 2013, Hill Farm converted to sponsored academy status as part of the Castle Phoenix Multi-Academy Trust, the lead school of which is Caludon Castle Secondary School in Wyken, Coventry. Being part of this Trust gives us unrivalled opportunities to work in partnership with a secondary school and share best practice. As a strategic partner in the Castle Phoenix Teaching School Alliance, we also have access to a wide range of training and professional development opportunities.  Our children are also able to benefit from making use of some of Caludon Castle’s specialist facilities to enhance curriculum provision.

In April 2015, Ofsted judged Hill Farm to be good in all five categories. In particular, they highlighted the good teaching and strong leadership, noting that “Teachers have high expectations of pupils’ work and plan interesting activities which engage and enthuse them”.

We are extremely proud of this outcome and it has given us a positive momentum to move forward and continue to build on our many strengths.

We feel that Hill Farm is an exciting and vibrant place for children to learn and grow.  Our overall aim is to improve the school so that we are seen as one of the best schools in Coventry. This will be because:

  • Our children will achieve personal excellence in their learning.
  • Our children will develop as happy, confident, independent learners who enjoy coming to school and thrive personally, socially and emotionally as a result of our high quality provision.
  • Our parents and carers will be an integral part of the school and their child’s learning.
  • Our friendly, welcoming and inclusive ethos will ensure that our school sits at the heart of the community.
