Early Years / Nursery teacher
Southern International School, Hat Yai, Thailand (SIH) is looking to recruit an Early Years / Nursery (rising three year olds ) teacher from April 2018. There may also be a vacancy for August 2018. Please state when you would be available in your letter of application.
We are a young school, in only our third year of operation, but we are experiencing strong growth, particularly in our early years and primary sections. We currently have one class each of Nursery (Pre-KG children) and KG1 but demand is very strong and we want to keep class sizes down, hence we are looking to expand and offer a second group in both classes. Our children are mostly Thai and from other Asian countries with parents who are committed to giving their children an international education. You will be supported by teaching assistants. There are opportunities for strong candidates to develop a leadership role in the school.
Any specialism in SEN, PSHE, Music, Drama or PE would be welcomed and should be referred to in your application.
We will contact your referees unless you specify otherwise.
The successful candidate will be joining the school at an exciting period in its development. There are opportunities to develop yourself professionally and personally in a safe, happy, supportive environment. Hat Yai is a wonderful city and this partly explains why so many of our staff stay with us.
Please read the job description and person specification, and look at our website and Facebook pages to get a feel for working in SIH and living in Southern Thailand.
NOTE: We reserve the right to interview and offer to a strong candidate prior to the closing date. It is strongly recommended that candidates submit their applications as soon as possible.
Southern International School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Please note that should your application be successful a police check will be undertaken in the country of origin; in the UK, a disclosure will be requested from the UK’s Disclosure and Barring Service.
