Kings Heath Primary School is now recruiting for an Early Years Practitioner on a fixed term to August 2022. This role could be the ideal next step in your career.

About the role

You will be required to engage and extend the children's learning in an engaging manner on a day-to-day basis, encourage and assist the children in developing their independent skills. Assess and observe the children in their learning and using this to plan provocations and themes in response. You will also be required to be an integral and positive member of the Early Years Foundation Stage team.

32.5 hours a week, 39 weeks of the year (term time)

08:30-15:30 - Monday - Friday

NJC06 : £19,698 FTE (£15,129.81 pro rata)

Who we are looking for

Level 2 or above NVQ Early Years Care and Education

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (level 2 skills) including English and maths at grade C or above

Good working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Ability to understand the principles of child development and learning processes, including barriers to learning.

Can use ICT effectively to support learning.

Use of other equipment – video, photocopier, websites

Full working knowledge of relevant policies / codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.

Working knowledge of National / Foundation Stage curriculum and other relevant learning programmes.

Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes

Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.

Ability to relate well to children and adults.

Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these. Experience of working with Early Years or Primary school aged children

Experience of leading groups of children where learners making good progress

Experience supporting learning across all subject areas of the EYFS or National Curriculum
