Our School Community
We are a small, inclusive and welcoming primary school with eight classes including a nursery.
Our vision underpins every aspect of school life:
We work to provide our children with strong foundations on which to build their lives through core values and the love of each other.
We believe strongly it's never just about WHAT you do, it's about WHY you do it. As a school we live by our values, driven by the desire to work together as a community to give all our children the strongest foundations on which to build their lives. In an often turbulent world, nothing can be more important than this. We join generations of teachers and nurturers who have gone before and shared this mission.
WHAT we do is create a vibrant, exciting and supportive space, where the vision is strongly rooted in the values of the school. We have fantastic children, dedicated and innovative staff and supportive governors and parents who work together as a strong team to encourage everyone, whatever their role, to develop and grow. We are part of Ridgeway Education Trust, a local MAT which offers outstanding professional support for staff and opportunities for our children. We support our community through initiatives such as the Family Links Nurturing Programme and engagement with local events, and our community supports us through fundraising and the sharing of local expertise. Together, we achieve more.
There is always something going on in school: music lessons echoing through the corridors, trips and visitors, art work in progress, children all muddy from Forest School, exciting lessons and activities happening all over the school – the hall, the grounds and the classrooms.
All the staff know every single child here and create a family atmosphere to help children to succeed. We have high expectations of everyone in our school community: children, staff, parents and our Trust
We strive to prepare our pupils for the world in which they will live in the future - of course we do not know how much this will change and whilst we try to keep up with the latest technology we are not able to predict exactly what this will be. However, we will strive to equip children with the ability to be ready for challenge and opportunity, respectful of others around them, and responsible for their choices and impact.
If you would like to find out more we would be delighted to show you around so that you can see the school in action. Please contact the office to make an appointment - we look forward to seeing you.
