Edgeborough is one of Surrey’s top Prep Schools and is a fantastic environment in which to work. The Nursery and Pre-School are situated on the main site and thereby benefit from the school’s excellent facilities. Our practice follows and extends the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) engendering a sense of wonder and curiosity of the world for all our children, giving them the confidence to take risks in an environment where they feel respected and secure. We look to achieve balance in our pedagogy, giving children structure and security whilst following their individual interests and aptitudes, doing so through a mixture of adult-led and child-initiated learning experiences. We fully recognise that children learn best when they are enthused, engaged and happy and we pride ourselves on the exceptionally friendly, inclusive and nurturing provision that we offer, where children and their families feel confident, involved and valued.  

With Edgeborough situated so favourably in some truly stunning grounds, outdoor learning is integral to who we are and what we do. The ideal candidate should share this commitment. Edgeborough is one of Surrey’s top preparatory schools.

There are approximately 380 children aged 2 – 13, the huge majority of whom go on to some of the country’s leading independent senior schools. These include: Bradfield College, Canford, Charterhouse, Churcher’s College, Cranleigh, Eton College, RGS Guildford, Guildford High School, Harrow, King Edward’s School Witley, Lord Wandsworth College, Marlborough College, Monkton Combe, Prior’s Field, Radley, St Catherine’s Bramley, St Swithun’s, Tormead, Wellington College and Winchester College. Edgeborough enjoys a very strong reputation and overall entrance results are high with a large number of pupils successful in gaining scholarships throughout the disciplines.   Older pupils are encouraged make excellent use of the school’s weekly and flexi-boarding provision.

The school is extremely well resourced both in terms of buildings and equipment.  Sports facilities include grass pitches, sports hall (x4 badminton courts), outdoor swimming pool, and large astro-turfed area (x4 netball pitches).  Additional facilities include: theatre, music suites, art studio, a drama and dance studio, well-equipped science laboratories and state of the art ICT facilities.

The school is set in 50 acres of wonderful, rolling Surrey countryside in Frensham. Pupils are very well behaved, courteous and supportive. Any new member of staff will be joining an exceptionally strong and well organized team of teachers and assistants.
