Job overview

We are seeking an experienced teacher with a strong background in facilitating the development of students in the Early Years while providing effective pastoral care. Ascot is an IB World School offering PYP and IB Diploma programmes; applicants with PYP experience will be at an advantage.  All candidates must have a degree in Education or a first degree with a Post Graduate teaching qualification. Native level English fluency is essential.

The teacher should: 

  • Have a commitment to and experience with delivering inquiry based and student centred lessons. 
  • Creating opportunities for play based, child initiated and experiential learning
  • Be dynamic and progressive in their approach to educational pedagogy. 
  • Be committed to providing a supportive and positive learning environment for all students in their class and throughout the school.
  • Support the learning community at Ascot by encouraging students to develop lifelong learning skills and by also modelling it through their own continuous professional development. 
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that Ascot maintains a high standard in all aspects of Teaching and Learning. 
  • To support and contribute to the school’s responsibility for safeguarding children and have high regard for children’s health and safety

ASCOT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL is a growing international school in Bangkok, Thailand. Established in 1995, the school school currently has over 400 students on roll from Nursery to year 13 and is an IB World School , offering the IB PYP and  Diploma.  In KS3 we follow the National Curriculum for England and Wales with modifications for our position in S.E Asia, in KS4 we offer Cambridge IGCSE and in KS5 the IBDP.

The school is very fortunate to have a supportive Board of Directors who are committed to school improvement. In January 2018 we opened an new campus in Kobe , Japan.  The Bangkok campus receives annual upgrades which included a new performance space opened in August  2019  and in 2020  coinciding with our 25th Anniversary , a STEAM centre will be opening.

The school is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), is an IB World School and a Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) centre.

Outside of school, life in Thailand is very enjoyable and our teachers enjoy an excellent standard of living in a very popular tourist destination. From the city life of Bangkok to the pristine beaches and mountain jungles, there is plenty to do during holidays and at the weekends. The school is situated 25 kms from the centre of Bangkok in the NE suburbs of the city; some teachers commute daily from school to home in one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the world. We are close to the Bangkok ring road and Suvarnabhumi airport, which makes weekend trips easy and convenient.

For the academic year 2020/21 beginning in mid August, we are seeking flexible, creative, passionate teachers with at least three years teaching experience, who are reflective practitioners and capable of providing quality learning in an international school environment where students have English as a second language.

Essential qualifications
