About the School

The British Early Years Centre is a small, well established, leading Reggio Emilia inspired Early Years school in Ari, Bangkok, catering for children aged 2 - 6 years old.

At BEYC we believe that children learn and develop best through a curriculum that is child led, play- based and nature inspired. That is why we choose to follow the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum fused with a Reggio Emilia approach, with nature at our heart. Our unique approach of merging two proven and world renown curriculums allows us to provide rich teaching opportunities and a holistic environment where the child’s voice is always heard and always comes first.

Our environment is set up and enabled to allow children to learn both inside and outside the classroom and we take great care in making sure toys and resources are selected to provide a wide range of learning opportunities, whilst thinking of sustainability as much as possible.

High emphasis is put into creating play-based and meaningful lessons as well as provocations and opportunities for learning to happen organically. Phonics and Maths are taught through exciting hands-on games, to enthuse and engage children while learning concepts, sounds and practicing new skills. Teachers are encouraged to plan around the current interests of the children and always incorporate as much play, nature and independent learning as they can.

We are proud to be a very health-conscious school that strongly believes in providing a healthy, nutritious menu that is inclusive of all allergies. All food and cleaning products are organic. We believe children have the right to learn and grow up with a healthy understanding and attitude to food and their wellbeing.

Our small class sizes and high number of teacher to student ratios sets us apart from other schools in Bangkok. Our maximum class size is 16 and each class has 3 Thai support staff, with a high level of English and 1 qualified teacher.
