We have two new openings for Early Years Teachers working with our 3-6 year old students. With outstanding facilities and a friendly, supportive staff, The English Centre is dedicated to providing an active and creative curriculum for our youngest pupils. Experience with the KS1 Cambridge Curriculum is seen as an advantage.

Our aim is to produce healthy well-balanced pupils who reach their full potential. This is carried out in a positive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to participate fully in all areas of school life and acquire a lifelong love of learning.

We are seeking Early Years teachers who will plan and provide high-quality learning opportunities for our youngest pupils that will help them to thrive and feel happy at school, as well as enabling them to develop their knowledge and skills as a foundation for good future learning. As an Early years’ professional, you will work together with teaching and coordination staff, families and the whole school community to develop positive and effective relationships. You will help to ensure the safety and welfare of all EY pupils, meeting their individual needs and proudly support their inclusion in all aspects of school life.

The English Centre is a co-educational, independent school with two form entry and runs from 2 to 18 years of age. The Early Years Department follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework Curriculum, which has been adapted to meet pupil needs and supports their learning and development in English. Stage 1 builds on the EYFS pedagogy and takes advantage of the experience gained from Pre-Nursery to Reception to incorporate the Cambridge Assessment International Curriculum as part of the transition to Junior School.

We require

·        Experience of teaching in EYFS and/or Key Stage 1 settings. Qualified Teacher Status is an advantage

·        Training in relevant learning strategies e.g. phonics or numeracy schemes for young learners

·        Experience of planning and evaluating individuals and groups in line with the EYFS framework

·        An up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding requirements

·        Evidence of using ICT effectively to support learning

·        A flexible, practical approach and good interpersonal skills

·        Recognition of the importance of creativity to enhance learning

·        Teachers need to be qualified to work in Europe.

 Founded in 1969 by Linda Randell, The English Centre (El Centro Inglés) is located in Cádiz, Spain. The area of Cádiz is located on the country’s southwestern coast, and has a population of 124,000. The school campus spreads across 18,000 square metres, of which 7,500 is designated classroom space. School facilities include a music room, ICT Suites, laboratory and specialist classrooms, dining room, kitchen, tutorial rooms, reception, bar, indoor hall and assembly hall.

The English Centre is co-educational and secular, and students are taught between the ages of 2-18. The school hosts language immersion Summer Camps, courses abroad and in Language Centres. The Palabramos is a creative writing workshop for 10-18 year olds, and is unique for the Cádiz region. The English Centre identity is founded around the idea that ‘English is Fun’, and utilises modern teaching methods to continually improve language education.
