Job overview

The SEND team for Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a Level 2 teaching assistant to work in a small provision that currently educates looked after children (LAC) with emotional, behavioural difficulties (EBD).

It is essential that you have experience providing assistance to students with emotional, behavioural difficulties. You will be required to work on a flexible basis with pupils to build positive, professional relationships and help children overcome barriers to learning. Experience supporting the teaching of core subjects such as English, Maths, Science and Functional skills is desirable along with experience facilitating 1:1 or small nurture group interventions.

You must be personable, resilient and have the ability to founder and maintain positive relationships with young people. It is paramount that you have an understanding of issues that can influence pupils within contemporary society.

You will receive CPD in order to ensure you are equipped with the most up to date knowledge and skills required for working with children and young people with SEND; courses include Safeguarding and Child protection, de-escalation and physical intervention, mental health awareness and Autism awareness.
