Thuringia International School Weimar (ThIS) in central Germany seeks an Economics and Individual & Societies (Humanities) teacher beginning 1 August, 2019 able to work with students age 13-18 in the Upper School, including IB MYP, IGCSE and IB DP exam courses.

ThIS is set in the beautiful town of Weimar and provides an international experience for 320 children of expatriates as well as German nationals. The school is an authorized IB World School, a member of the Association of German International Schools, and is accredited by the Council of International Schools.

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree and teaching certificate, and at least 2 years previous experience teaching Economics in a High/Secondary school, including teaching 16-18 year olds; the school uses the IB, however previous experience with an equivalent program such as AP or A-levels would suffice. They will be able to demonstrate a commitment to international values, an ability to work in a flexible and collaborative manner, and good inter-personal skills. A willingness to work closely with teachers, to partake in after-school activities, and to support school events are essential. The school will provide full support to the selected teacher with travel to Weimar and finding living accommodation in the town.
