Job overview

This post is fixed term for 12 months or until the substantive post holder returns (whichever is soonest)

Hours: 37 hours per week.  You will be required to be at work for a total of 1480 hours per year. This will usually be completed on 200 days over a period of 40-41 weeks based around student term times. Holiday, including entitlement to Bank Holidays and Closure Days, will be taken outside this working time, unless by prior arrangement with your line manager

Salary: In the range of £19,135-£21,178 per annum pro-rata, actual salary in the range of £17,179.13-£18,983.68 per annum (Dependent on skills, experience and qualifications)

Reporting to: Assistant Principal, School of Academic & Vocational Support

Primary Location: All Sites.

The Team

The School of Academic & Vocational Support, services all learning support across the college.  The team comprises of specialist teachers, practitioners, and support staff, with diverse skills that work with curriculum teams to support students in their learning, inclusive of those with Special Educational Needs and Disability

The Role

The Education Health and Care Plan Coordinator, has administrative oversight of the college’s processes, for example the annual review of EHCPs, consultation processes, and responses to request for information from Local Authorities.  This is a predominantly administrative role, that helps ensure students receive the support that they need whilst at college.  

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:

• Awareness of Education Health and Care plans

• Strong customer service skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

Northampton College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college situated in Northamptonshire. It is a 16-plus institution with three campuses: a major building at its main Northampton site, a smaller campus near the town centre and another 20 miles away in Daventry. It provides places for around 9,000 students aged 16 and over, most of whom are full-time and aged 16-18.

Northampton College was opened in 1973. It merged with Daventry Tertiary College to expand its Daventry campus in August 2004, and its Booth Lane campus reopened after a large redevelopment in 2012.
