What it’s about

The position of Education Contracts Manager offers the exciting opportunity to join the Business to Government Projects team in Cambridge English. Working with internal teams across the organisation and overseas, we provide consultancy services and design, develop and deliver education reform projects to Governments and education organisations worldwide. The Education Contracts Manager will manage and have responsibility for multiple small-medium strategic education contracts, ensuring deliverables are driven to completion and to the satisfaction of internal teams, as well as building effective and positive relationships with our external stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing

The post-holder will project manage multiple education reform contracts:

  • Identify, create and operate appropriate systems and structures  which ensure effective quality control and assurance on live projects;  coordinating the delivery of services as stipulated in contractual  agreements, ensuring timely movement between project milestones and producing effective plans for the delivery of projects covering the full range of planning areas.


  • Develop and ensure positive relationships with the customer organisation, their high satisfaction with the services provided and with Cambridge English in general as an organisation.


  • Co-ordinate the work of internal teams through a system of Service Delivery and other Working Groups, through successful internal communications, and to ensure the team at Cambridge English delivers and meets KPIs.


  • Monitor and manage project, quality and costs, and communicate/negotiate any variations to the project team.


  • Request and co-ordinate the necessary resources (human/equipment/technology) from within and beyond the project team in order to deliver projects as per the contract.


  • Manage budgets for the contract, ensure invoices are raised in a timely fashion and that the contractual terms are met by Cambridge English.


  • Ensure that risks are identified and plans put in place for their effective management or mitigation.


  • Prepare internal progress and issue reports.


What we’re looking for

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level, preferably with an additional  qualification or training in management.
  • Experience of project management (and ideally accredited in) PRINCE2.


Skills

  • Strong commercial acumen, cost and budget control.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Experienced user of standard office applications including word processing, spread-sheet tools and project management software.
  • Experience in the education sector and education-related project  management.


Experience

  • Working in the area of contract management from a supplier perspective.
  • Working with high profile customers.
  • Co-ordinating work across a number of different departments.
