Job overview
With 37 academies and over 18,000 pupils, Greenwood Academies Trust is a large Multi Academy Trust. We are improving rapidly and have an opportunity for outstanding education leaders with successful primary school improvement experience to join our excellent team.
We are excited to be looking for exceptional professionals to increase capacity in our Primary Education Team. Our 25 primary academies are predominantly ‘Good’ and mostly located in clusters on the East Coast, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicester.
The role is a combination of school improvement, executive governance and strategic system leadership. It will involve working with a portfolio of academy principals, leaders and other practitioners to effectively self-evaluate and deliver high-quality education provision through robust and ambitious improvement work. It will also include a Trust-wide strategic leadership responsibility where you will get the opportunity to develop and lead work on a common improvement priority, aligned to successful candidates’ interests, skills and experience; examples could include a focus on disadvantaged pupils, curriculum development, subject-specific improvements, improving the quality of teaching, etc. These are delivered through networks of practitioners utilising our Learning Alliance, which is our in-house professional development hub.
The role would suit individuals with detailed and up-to-date knowledge of primary education and school improvement through successful leadership experience as a Principal or comparable adviser/improvement partner (e.g. HMI, Local Authority adviser, Systems Leader). Ideally, you will have experience across a range of school contexts, including those serving the most disadvantaged communities.
We are interested in exploring flexible models to fill the capacity. Therefore, we are open to exploring part- or full-time hours and would consider opportunities as fixed-term employment, secondment or consultancy.
