Description The Education Officer, Learning Technology, is responsible for providing support and advice to a group of primary schools on how innovation and the application of learning technologies in quality pedagogy will support the improvement of learning outcomes for students with the following two aims:
• To utilise learning technologies to promote contemporary high quality teaching and learning
• To support teachers in the use of technology in their day to day teaching The successful applicant joins a team of 2 within Teaching & Learning Services, who will have responsibility as a first point of contact as well as Cybersafety awareness, BYOD discussions with schools, and the general integration and development of teaching and learning with technologies into all areas of the curriculum. This is not an IT position. The location of the role is negotiable - The Catholic Schools Office and/or a school
Position Requirements The successful applicant will:
• demonstrate a sound understanding of Catholic principles across the curriculum
• be an excellent classroom teacher with at least 6 years’ experience
• have a four-year teaching classification with significant and successful teaching experiences
• have shown to be innovative, flexible and open in thinking and pedagogical practice
• have the ability to interact with colleagues in a constructive and professional manner
• have demonstrated initiative, and the ability to work in a team setting or unsupervised, as required
• have high level organisational, communication and ICT skills.
Essential Criteria • have a comprehensive knowledge about and understanding of current NSW curriculum requirements in primary schools
• have a sound understanding of the demands of across-curriculum and ICT content in syllabuses
• An ability to work collaboratively with other members of the Learning Technologies Team to ensure consistent, strategically planned, effective and educationally focussed, service delivery.
• The capacity to work collaboratively with members of the broader Curriculum Team and other teams to support the development of engaging, interactive and outcomes-focussed student learning
•Evidence of engagement with online learning
•Ability to support the development of MN online learning courses for teaching and learning
•Ability to support school use of Video Conferencing facilities
• Your current Working With Children number must be recorded on your application
Desirable Criteria • A knowledge of current research and developments in data-informed practice used to improve performance across a range of educational settings.
• An ability to assist schools/teachers/administrators with short and longer term education technology planning according to system policy.
• Experience in leading Learning Technology.

Conditions of EmploymentThis position with be for an initial contract of 2 years and extended dependent upon a successful performance review. The position will be remunerated at level of 3.3 of the Catholic Schools Office Education and Professional Officers salary scale.

The Catholic Schools Office (CSO), is responsible for the leadership, efficient operation and management of systemic schools which educate more than 18,000 students in 45 Primary schools, 10 Secondary schools and one K-12 school in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
