Education Assistant (Science and Maths)
Grade: Scale 5 (Actual Salary: up to £20,795 pa)
Contract: 32.5 hours per week, Term-time only
Start Date: ASAP
Thomas Tallis is a flourishing and popular school situated in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. We currently have 1930 pupils on the school roll with over 550 students in our highly competitive sixth form. We strive for excellence in all that we do underpinned by our vision of education to understand the world and change it for the better.
We wish to Education Assistants based in the following subjects: Science and Maths. You will assist the teacher in devising lesson plans and supporting SEN students in small groups and 1:1 sessions. In particular, this role would suit someone who would like experience within a school setting prior to considering teacher training. The school wants to recruit staff who want to do the very best that they can to help make a difference to the learning of students.
We are looking for someone who has:
• a good quality degree in Science or Maths, or relevant experience
• confidence, resilience with excellent communication and organisational skills
• experience of working with secondary age children and young people
• a professional, kind and calm manner
