We are seeking to appoint an Education Welfare Officer/Attendance Manager to lead academy attendance teams and to engage students and their parents/carers where poor attendance is identified as a barrier to learning.

The successful candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience of working with children and families and with other agencies is essential, preferably within an education welfare setting.

A committed team worker, you will carry a caseload and work on your own initiative. Time management skills are essential given the variety of this challenging, yet rewarding role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for highly motivated and driven individuals, you must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students. The purpose of this post is to fulfil our responsibility in the improvement of attendance and enhance the life chances of our students at Outwood Academy Acklam. Please note this position requires driving.

In line with Government guidance, we are currently limiting access to our academy. However, we are still busily planning ahead for the academic year and are excited about welcoming new recruits to come and join us. In some instances, we may use remote interviews and therefore we have set up systems to ensure that alternative options are available via skype/video conferencing wherever possible. Every effort will be made to try and accommodate any specific requirements so that no-one is at a disadvantage.
