Support us, and we will support you.

It is not just our teaching staff who help us create exceptional results. Our support staff are vital to ensuring that our pupils achieve their full potential and become confident, resilient and compassionate individuals who can make a positive contribution to society. We believe that you should be supported too, with all the opportunities you need to develop your career and achieve your goals.

City of London Academy, Highgate Hill, opened as a mixed, all-ability, non-denominational academy in September 2017, and is housed in a lovely building with excellent facilities for students, staff and the community. With the support of our enthusiastic students, diligent staff, supportive parents and cohesive governing body, we strive to provide a calm and purposeful learning environment underpinned by high expectations.

We are seeking a Education Welfare Officer to join us in March 2022. The work is complex and requires exceptional team working skills, an understanding of integrated ways of working and an absolute commitment to early intervention excellence for children and families. There is personal autonomy and team members are expected to act upon their own initiative and manage their own time effectively. You will have experience of working in a school as an Education Welfare Officer or similar.

You will be expected to manage your own workload and prioritise work appropriately. Excellent communication skills both oral and written are an essential part of the role to be able to deal with staff, students, parents and external agencies.

Normal working hours are 8.00am - 4.00pm. It is expected that you would be available to support certain meetings outside of these hours by agreement in advance for which time off in lieu will be accrued. There are also INSET training days and TWILIGHT evenings throughout the academic year which you are expected to attend.

City of London Academy Highgate Hill is part of the City of London Academies Trust, a multi-academy trust with schools in North, East and South London. We are driven by a clear ambition to ensure that all schools are recognised as Outstanding within three years of joining us.  We combine the heritage and tradition of the Corporation of London with a genuinely innovative, enterprising and entrepreneurial ethos.  We’re also committed to providing first-rate training and development to all of our staff, plus excellent career advancement opportunities within this evolving Trust.
