Job overview

The Directors of this highly successful Catholic Multi Academy Trust wish to appoint an Educational Psychologist to support our young people in Darlington, Stockton & Billingham from January 2019 or mutually agreed date.

Carmel Education Trust has overarching accountability and governance of a number of Academies. Carmel College, Holy Family, St Augustine’s, and St Bede’s, Darlington,  Our Lady and St. Bede, St Gregory’s, and St. Bede, Stockton &  St Michael’s Catholic Academy Billingham.  In 2019 we anticipate a further five primary schools will join our Trust.

All members benefit from the strong ethos and quality governance. Carmel’s Teaching School status and its strong links with the Department for Education and Education Endowment Fund means that professional development of staff is central to the work of the Trust. Being members of the trust has formalised the collaboration between schools sharing a vision to provide the best possible outcomes for all our children.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities and be able to undertake psychological assessments and interventions in all our schools and phases and be willing to support the Christian ethos of our Trust.

We are able to offer flexible working to meet the needs of the Trust on a part time basis, working 3 days per week term time plus 13 days in the first instance.  The successful candidate must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post. Full induction and supervision will be provided.

You will work closely with our Trust SENCo, Principals & Headteachers, school based SENCOs and other senior staff promoting the emotional and social wellbeing of our young people from 4 to 18 years. Working in partnership with parents, teachers, social workers and doctors in a variety of ways you will support children who are experiencing problems which hinder their successful learning and participation in school and other activities. You will be experienced in offering a range of appropriate interventions, such as learning programmes and collaborative work with teachers or parents.

For further information, or to arrange a visit please contact Hayley Wooding, PA to the CEO and Deputy CEO on 01325 523414 or hwooding@carmel.org.uk Application forms are available on our website.

We look forward to welcoming you to our College.
