As part of our continued growth, we have an opportunity for a Educational Psychologist who can work either 2 or 3 days per week to make a difference to the lives of young people with complex needs. About the Role


You’ll join our multi-disciplinary team of dedicated clinical staff. You’ll provide psychological assessment for pupils within the schools, guidance for education and care teams and professional development training for all staff. The role involves communicating with families/ carers and specialist agencies. You’ll work alongside Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychotherapists, Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists.


This is a challenging role and you must be able to cope with stressful interpersonal situations whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism. This may involve highly emotive and distressing problems and the threat of verbal and physical abuse.


Location: Based at the Wessex Lodge School Nunney road, Frome

Who we are looking for?


We are looking for a Educational Psychologist with a Postgraduate or masters professional qualification and HCPC registration. You’ll need to be creative and passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with complex needs.


The ideal candidate will be resilient and have experience of working in with children and young people with complex SEN needs. You’ll need to be a good communicator with strong skills in assessment and report writing.


Key Accountabilities:


Provide psychological assessment and intervention for children and young people within the schools

Offer guidance for education and care teams

To provide supervision to agreed members of the clinical team

Communicating with families/ carers and specialist agencies

Engage in professional development training for all staff


Essential Criteria


Post graduate qualification in Educational Psychologist

Registered with the HCPC

Creative and passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people

Able to work as part of a team and be self-reliant
