Mother Teresa School caters for students from four years of age, where students are enrolled in our Early Learning Centre, to students in Year Six. About the Role
The position exists to support the implementation of the mission of Catholic Education and to provide high quality service and programs for children in the year before formal school. The ELC Teacher Director has leadership responsibility in the area of the development and day-to-day management of the Preschool located at Harrison. The ELC Teacher Director is the Nominated Supervisor of the Preschool.
Essential Criteria
- A willingness to support the ethos and mission of Catholic education.
- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) qualifications and at least 4 years’ experience in an early childhood setting. The teaching qualifications must meet both ACECQA and TQI/NESSA requirements.
- A thorough knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.
- Proven and effective leadership/management in the planning, implementation and evaluation of high quality educational and care programs for groups of preschool age children.
- A proven capacity to provide inclusive programs which are based on the recorded observations and interpretation of children’s responses, needs and interests.
- A strong capacity to assess the developmental needs of children and to refer to specialist children’s services as appropriate.
- A sound ability to provide early childhood programs which have a commitment to active involvement of families and local community.
- A genuine passion for mentoring and leading a team of educators.
- A proven ability to implement and manage effective financial and administrative systems
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
