Downside School is at the start of an exciting journey following our recent organisational separation from Downside Abbey to a new independently governed company limited by guarantee called Downside School. Downside School is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 11 to 18, and one of England’s oldest and most distinguished Catholic schools. We are situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills, twelve miles south of the city of Bath.
The Building and Engineering Department is a key function providing services across a busy, complex School site. As Electrical Engineer you will work as part of this team and closely with our Senior Electrical Engineer, completing electrical testing and inspection reports, and assisting with the various planned and reactive maintenance activities required.
You will have an NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification including 2391 Inspection and Testing, and have your 18th Edition IET Wiring regulation accreditation.
We require a flexible pragmatic approach, a high level of technical proficiency and someone who has excellent problem solving skills. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate a calm, professional and approachable manner.
It is essential that you are able to prioritise workload, have attention to detail and previous experience in customer facing role. If you would like to be part of a small but highly professional team, we would love to hear from you.
Salary: £competitive depending on experience
Hours: 39 hours per week, 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 15:30pm on a Friday.
