Job overview

We are seeking an EMA Bilingual Expert to join our experienced Ethnic Minority Achievement team. The successful candidate will be passionate about working with young people who speak English as an additional language and will have excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and one/more of these languages: Romanian, Portuguese and Bulgarian.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with sound interpersonal skills who is professional, flexible, patient, reliable and efficient under pressure. You will join a very busy team of multilingual EMA experts and endeavour to inspire and accelerate the language and academic progress of our fast-growing cohort of EAL pupils. 

We would like to appoint a candidate who has:

• Very good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills

• Proven track record of quality 1-1/small group literacy & numeracy intervention

• Good knowledge of English, Maths and Science secondary school curricula

• Proven track record of quality ‘in-class’ support provision 

• Experience in providing high standard prompt translation/interpreting 

• Experience in providing quality home-school liaison 

• Willingness to establish a rapport with our local community
