Are you looking for a role where you can really help to make a difference to the life chances of young people?

The successful Emotional Literacy and Social Skills Coordinator will take a lead role in supporting Teachers and Senior Leaders in addressing the needs to pupils to overcome barriers to learning and help increase levels of achievement. This will include working with small groups and on a one to one basis with pupils.

Hours: 37 hours a week, term time (39 weeks)
Salary: £17,891 - £22,434 per annum (£15,225 - £19,090 pro-rata)

The Nottingham Academy is a multi-site academy with new and refurbished buildings, offering pupils and staff an outstanding learning environment. Each site is led by a Head of School in conjunction with the Lead Principal, Ged Rae. The most recent Ofsted in November 2015 judged the academy as continuing to be ‘Good’ and commented that despite its increasing size, it feels calm and orderly and has an atmosphere focused on learning.

The ideal candidates will:

  • be able to demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies
  • be well organised and have high expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • have the ability to engage constructively with and relate to a wide range of young people and their parents/carers from different backgrounds
  • be able to act as a professional role model at all times
  • be able to give suitable advise to pupils on both an academic and a social level.

The academy is part of the Greenwood Academies Trust, which offers great development and progression opportunities, an attractive pension scheme and tax efficient childcare vouchers. You will be required to work term time only so this is reflected in the pro-rata’d salary.

Nottingham Academy Ransom Road is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Mapperley, Nottingham. The academy has a ‘schools within a school’ model and has two other sites: Greenwood Road and Sneinton Boulevard, together offering 3,780 places for students between the ages of 3-19. Ransom Road has a capacity for 900 students from Year 7 to Year 11.
