We have an exciting opportunity, for the right candidate, to help develop the skills and aspirations of young people with Learning difficulties and/or Autism in the Waltham Forest Borough area. This role is a full-time permanent role.

  • To generate links with local employers that result in placement opportunities for learners.
  • To work with designated employers to identify suitable pathways and work-related opportunities for learners. 
  • Sustain rapport with key employers by making periodic visits, exploring specific needs and anticipating new opportunities. Develop and nurture stakeholder and partnership relationships to generate a consistent flow of employment opportunities for our Supported Internships 


You will take a lead in Employer Engagement to create fun and engaging ways for young people to improve their understanding of job roles and sectors, including work tasters and work experience. You will be responsible for building and developing strong working relationships with various employers in different industries and sectors to negotiate and secure paid employment, work placement and volunteering opportunities for our Supported Interns.

You will need the ability to work on your own initiative. Good interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively with learners, employers, teaching professionals, parents/carers and is essential. The ability to maintain accurate and up to date records using IT based systems is also required. Ideally, you will have employer engagement and marketing experience - as an important aspect of the role is creating work opportunities for the people we support.

All candidates offered an interview for this role will need to provide evidence of their A-C GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at interview stage.
