ENGINEERING/D&T TECHNICIAN 

Salary Range: Grade D 

Actual Salary: pro-rated range £16,000-£17,000 (term time + 2 weeks) 

Location:        Biddick Academy, Washington and Harraton sites  

Biddick Academy seeks to appoint an experienced Technician to support both the Engineering and Design & Technology curriculum.  The academy is looking for someone with knowledge of mechanical engineering in particular, and the ability to operate engineering equipment eg milling machines, lathes, CNC machinery. 

Responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining equipment and classrooms, supporting teachers and students with the provision of practical resources; supporting in the maintenance and ordering of stock; ensuring a healthy and safe environment. 

Do you hold relevant professional qualifications within engineering?  Able to demonstrate a minimum of 3 years’ practical experience within a mechanical engineering context?  Able to demonstrate practical experience which supports Design & Technology?  Familiar with health and safety regulations around workshops, classrooms, and engineering equipment?
