Nelson and Colne College Group is a beacon for educational excellence, made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning & Accrington & Rossendale College. We are looking for highly motivated and dedicated Engineering Lecturer to join our Engineering team on a full-time, permanent basis working 35 hours per week. 

This role will be based at Nelson and Colne College. 

Main duties include:

• Teaching within the Engineering team on a range of programmes but predominantly on apprenticeship training, delivering effective learning for students 

• Plan and prepare high quality teaching and learning

• Develop and share resources for the course/subject

• Deliver enrichment and enhancement activities

• Complete required assessment duties in relation to practical training and student assignments


The ideal candidate will have:

• Degree in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification/experience

• Recognised teaching qualification or a willingness to achieve this within three years of appointment

• Successful teaching experience in relevant subject area (Engineering) – desirable 

• Programming experience for turning and milling including Mazatrol, Fanuc, Heidenhain alongside CAM based software

• Machinery experience (Milling 3 axis & Turning including C & Y axis axis)

• Machinery experience Haas 4/5 axis – desirable

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
