Wigan & Leigh College are looking to recruit to its successful Engineering Department to a range of Lecturing posts with salaries up to £33,753 (more for exceptional candidates). The College also offers career progression opportunities.

The Engineering Department at Wigan & Leigh College has continued to grow and is based at our Pagefield site, which enjoys state of the art equipment and resources

We are looking for innovative and creative engineering graduates with excellent industry experience and knowledge. Our Engineering Division delivers both full and part-time courses from Level 1 to Level 7 plus professional updates to meet employer needs.

We are looking for professional Lecturers with one or more specialisms in the following areas:

  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

We are looking for Lecturers to deliver training and education over a range of levels from Level 2 EAL programmes to Level 4/5 HNC/HND's or on the departments BEng Degrees in both Electrical or Mechanical engineering disciplines. We are interested in Lecturers who can teach higher level Science, Maths, CAD and Mechanical Principles also Electrical/Electronics lecturers who can deliver a range of units that includes PLC's, Digital and Analogue Electronics, Inspection and Testing, Electrical Machines, 3 phase motors, Electrical Principles and Electrical Power. There is also an opportunity within the department for an experienced and highly skilled fabrication and welding tutor who has the ability to deliver both practical and theoretical units to full time and part time students covering levels 2 & 3 EAL and City and Guilds programmes both the NVQ and Technical certificates.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time. 

Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
