One Year Fixed-term Contract
English and Literacy Teacher - Initially Years 7 and 8 and 9: Full Time/Part Time (Flexible): Outer London Payscale.
An excellent opportunity to develop your practice in an outstanding school Required September 2018 We are seeking to appoint, part-time or full-time (ideally for three or more days a week), a primary teacher who is an outstanding practitioner with a background or particular interest in English and literacy to join our highly successful English Department. This is a new role with a very clear focus on improving reading and literacy skills. Our aim is to ensure that all of our students are fluent and confident readers, so that they are equipped for the future. We are prepared to fund the successful candidate’s NPQSL or NPQML, as appropriate to the professional development.
Currently our Key Stage three curriculum is delivered in Years 7 and 8. You would work with the Assistant Head teacher responsible for Literacy and Communication and our Literacy Coordinator (a primary teacher). You would also work alongside a creative and innovative English department, which prides itself in delivering a broad and challenging curriculum. In this role, you would be working with small groups of students. This role is one which will support the expanding literacy work of the school as a result of the impact of appointing a literacy coordinator with a background in the primary sector. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students to read and enable them to fully access the wider curriculum.
