Role Description

We currently seek a teacher of English B to teach both IB students and IGCSE students.  Applicants will work with our ESL team to ensure that students accessing the English language are supported in the best way possible. Dynamic classroom skills are important to engage and enhance the learning of English, supporting student access to educational material. In addition to the teaching requirement, teachers are required to support our boarding students and boarding team with weekend activities (5 per year) and study evenings.

EDUCATION

As a minimum must have fully qualified teacher status eg QTS, PGCE or its equivalent. A minimum of a Bachelors (Hons) in the subject and be fully qualified to teach the upper secondary students.

EXPERIENCE

Must be experienced in teaching English as a second language and be an English mother tongue speaker. Applicants should be familiar with the IB philosophy and International Mindedness. 

Preferred

Familiarity with the IB programme and the IB philosophy is strongly recommended.
Familiarity with IGCSE English as a second language syllabus.
Previous International experiences is preferred.

About Eerde International Boarding School

International School Eerde (ISE) is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational independent all-through school with boarding in the Netherlands, serving students from the age of 4-18. The all-through school is situated in Ommen, and welcomes pupils from many different nationalities. There are approximately 120 pupils on record.

International School Eerde was founded in 1934 and is the oldest international school in the Netherlands. The school offers boarding for pupils aged 12 and above. Students are taught from the Cambridge curriculum and at the age of 16 take the IGCSE exams, followed by an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. It is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS).
