The Oporto International School, accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), was established in 1990 and today is a fast-growing school with approximately 900 students, aged 3 to 18, from 34 different countries. All students are provided with an education which promotes the highest academic standards within a learning culture that is explicitly internationally-minded. CLIP fosters an innovative, challenging and warm environment for learning, where each child is encouraged to develop his/hers own unique talents. Our school follows the Cambridge IGCSE course in Form 9 and 10 and then the Cambridge AS and A2 courses (which make up an A level) in Form 11 and 12.

To begin in September 2017 we are recruiting qualified English speaking teachers in the following areas:

English Language and Literature To A Level

CLIP is seeking a highly trained and experienced teacher to work in the English Department in the Upper and Middle school. Our school follows the Cambridge IGCSE course in Form 9 and 10 and then the Cambridge AS and A2 courses (which make up an A level) in Form 11 and 12.

Applicants should be graduates holding a recognised teaching qualification and be in possession of a valid EU passport. The language of instruction is English, thus being a fluent English speaker is a pre-requisite. Innovation, creativity and flexibility are also qualities we value in our educators.

The Oporto International School is a co-educational English medium school for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Form 12. The school has three sections, Lower School, Middle and Upper School, each of which is lead by its own Director.

CLIP follows a modified English National curriculum in the Lower School and Middle, and writes IGCSE, AICE and A Level examinations in the Upper School. The Middle school has an innovative curriculum with Learning Through Research and Design as a cornerstone of its interdisciplinary educational programme. The vast majority of students from CLIP successfully enter universities in Portugal and the UK. The school also offers a wide variety of after school activities and holiday programmes through the CLIPClubs that are run at the school. The extra-curricular needs of the students are serviced by very modern arts, technology and sporting facilities.
