English Mentor

Contract: This post will be offered on a temporary, full time, term time only plus one week basis, initially until 20th July 2018

Start Date: September 2017

Pay Scale: Grade 3, Spinal Column Point 14-18

Salary: £16,781- £18,070 per annum (pro rata salary: £14,496.20 - £15,609.70 per annum)

Hours: 37 hours per week to be worked flexibly between 08.30 and 16.30 Monday to Friday

No on roll: 870 (including VI Form)

Ofsted rating: Good (September 2014)

Diocesan Inspection: Outstanding (March 2016)

Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative person to work alongside the hardworking and dedicated English team.  The English mentor role will involve supporting students within lessons, delivering 1-1 as well as working with small groups to offer targeted intervention.

Applicants must have a minimum of five GCSEs or equivalent which includes English and Maths. Higher level academic qualifications will be considered an advantage. Applicants must ideally have prior experience of working with young people and be able to demonstrate an ability to work in support of them in both a pastoral and academic capacity.
