English - Second in Department

We are seeking to appoint talented, dynamic, experienced and highly effective member of staff to the position of Second in Department in English. We are looking for a talented educator with a big heart who shares our commitment to excellence and achieving the very best for all our pupils.

The main aspects of the role include:

• Day-to-day leadership and management working closely with the other Second-in-Charge, supporting the Subject Leader and deputising in her absence as required.
• Engaging in effective professional development that secures excellent teaching and learning across the department.
•  Securing outstanding progress, closing gaps and ensuring that no child is left behind.
•  Ensuring the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, rich and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.

The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher of English in a secondary school and will have a track record for securing strong outcomes for learners. The appointed person will be adept at translating their own high expectations and professional standards to others through their daily practice. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to become part of the Garth Hill team.
