In St. Paul's School, Barcelona, we are looking for a motivated, flexible and dynamic, specialist English Secondary teacher to specifically teach the English language in Secondary, beginning in September 2017 with the following requirments

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a completed induction year and a minimum of two years teaching experience are essential.
  • A good working knowledge of latest UK practice, enthusiasm, ability to work in a team and interest in new technologies (particularly iPads in the classroom) will be greatly valued. Experience in teaching the A level curriculum would also be beneficial.
  • A knowledge of Spanish/Catalan would be appreciated.

Established in 1968, by a group of parents who wanted to improve education in the local area, St Paul’s School is based in Barcelona, Spain. It is an all-through, mainstream, independent, trilingual, international educational establishment. The school educates girls and boys aged between three and 18 years old. Even though St Paul’s School does not teach the British National Curriculum, all the subjects taught in English are done so by native English speaking teachers. Our methodology involves the use of innovative learning strategies in order to achieve high academic standards, whilst at the same time promoting the personal development of each pupil as well as encouraging them to behave appropriately in a range of different situations.

St Paul’s School aims to teach students to have self-confidence, discipline, tolerance for others and responsibility for their actions. The students learn several languages providing the opportunity for them to attend university in the country of their choice when the time comes. They are encouraged to be kind and understanding of whoever they come across in life and to respect all beliefs and religions. They are also inspired to work hard within an ethos of resilience, tenacity and perseverance. They are encouraged to take part in clubs and activities after school and during break time. These clubs include sport drama, guitar, chess, science, media, maths and debate. Annual trips are organized to European cities as well as homestay and exchange programs in Ireland USA and Canada.
