About the role

You will join a team of experienced Secondary English specialists. Join our fast-paced international environment, and you will deliver UK National Curriculum, IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma programmes. You will challenge your students to set ambitious targets for themselves and seek out and implement innovative teaching practices to enhance the student experience and outcomes.

About you

You are able to create a classroom culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved. Your qualifications will include a degree in your specialist subject, a teaching qualification, plus at least 2 years teaching experience after successfully completing your NQT year. Receptive to feedback and ready to embrace change, you will be keen to share best practice with colleagues and peers.

  • Communicative – the department prides itself on its communication with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Determination – the candidate must be driven and ambitious.

  • An outstanding classroom practitioner.

The best candidate:

  • Will have experience teaching literature to an advanced level. The rigours of the IB course are demanding, and candidates must be able to challenge and stretch their students on a daily basis.
  • Will be an outstanding classroom practitioner – one who is creative and adaptable.
  • Will be enthusiastic. The job is demanding and requires true passion for the subject and the profession.
  • Have a history of excellent results for GCSE and A Level/ IB.
  • Will be able to evidence considerable contributions to the wider success of their school.

A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement and personal investment within the classroom. Finally, you will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions, including proving current domicile in the UK.

Selection Process

The closing date for applications is 3rd March, 2017. 

First stage interviews will be conducted by Skype or telephone and final interviews will take place at the Nord Anglia Education Recruitment Event in central London in the week commencing 16th – 17th March (alternative arrangements will be made for candidates who cannot attend in person).
