Job overview

English Teacher with responsibility TLR2b

At Witton Park, our guiding principles are simple yet powerful:

  • Children come first and are at the heart of all we do
  • Positive relationships underpin all of our work
  • High expectations and no barriers – everybody can achieve

If our principles resonate with you, and you are seeking a new challenge, we’d be delighted to receive your application for the vacancies that have arisen in our highly successful English department.

In this role we are looking for an outstanding classroom teacher, with proven leadership skills. We will support you with extensive CPD opportunities both within the school and across the Trust.

You would be joining a team of colleagues who are passionate about making sure that all pupils enjoy the subject and are focused on securing the best outcomes for our students. We work collaboratively to share good practice, both within the department and across the school as a whole. Being a BSF and Google accredited school; we are very well-resourced with Promethean whiteboards and Chromebooks, with lesson being taught in modern, spacious classrooms.

We are looking for someone who can continue the great results already achieved by the hard work and dedication of pupils and staff in this department. Having secured 76% 9-4, a great deal of our work at KS4 is enhanced by the two members of staff who have current examiner experience with AQA.

The diverse curriculum offered at Witton Park supports a high up take for EBacc and option subjects. Outcomes for pupils in 2016 were judged to be good by Ofsted. We are now likely to be judged outstanding for progress with a progress 8 score of +0.24 in 2016 and a further significant increase to +0.45 in 2017. The Ofsted report and website will give you a flavour for other aspects of the school.

If you are interested in joining our friendly and forward-thinking team, and you have the skills and qualities required, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

Welcome to Witton Park Academy

Innovating… Engaging… Caring… Learning… Succeeding Together.
With pride and passion we unite our school and our local community, and lead the drive to be ‘always learning’.

We are extremely proud of our school; the achievements of our pupils, the expertise and dedication of our staff, our outstanding facilities and our reputation as a centre of excellence.

Our ultra-modern school buildings allow our pupils to flourish in facilities for learning that truly do enable us to trail blaze innovative learning – from the bright and attractive classrooms, to the fully equipped outside play areas, the facilities allow our pupils to fully explore their talents and to shine in those areas that they most enjoy.

A building, however, is only as good as the people working within; we believe we have some of the best students and teachers in the world.  Staff and pupils benefit from the investment we place on their development: as well as playing a key part in supporting other schools through the Achievement through Collaboration Trust, we have a variety of external partners from Google, The Schools, Students and Teacher Network and with University College London. Partnerships like these create opportunities for all members of our team.

We understand how important choosing the right school is and so, on behalf of our pupils and staff, we warmly invite you to visit our school and experience for yourself the quality of education we offer.
