Tes is supporting the appointment of an experienced and interactive English Teacher on a full time, permanent basis at an independent school based in Central Bedfordshire. You will be adept at coaching students to see and lead through challenges in their learning, so they make the best possible progress in each and every lesson. 

The school is part of one of the most extensive and progressive networks of schools and educational support services in the world with 126 campuses across 20 countries. 

Sstudents are provided with innovative teaching, empowered by new technology, including Zoom videoconferencing and the Learning Management System ‘Canvas’. Aligned with local curriculum, students are supported by teachers to take ownership of their learning as part of the Self-Directed Learning pedagogy. The school are looking for conscientious and hard-working individuals who are passionate about education and pay meticulous attention to detail. 

JOB PURPOSE

  • To ensure documented lesson plans are delivered to meet the outcomes as set out in the relevant school English Language and Literature curriculum and the relevant GCSE and A-Level Examination Board specifications
  • The role is central to the efficient and effective teaching of English Language and Literature, using the 50:50 model to inspire and enthuse all students to achieve at the highest levels whilst supporting the development of all learners
  • To deliver lessons via the preferred virtual learning environment (Canvas), utilising zoom technology
  • To equip students with the transferable skills of time management, research, IT and problem solving
  • The candidate will need to be willing to undertake other teaching responsibilities such as, but not limited to, LAMDA, Citizenship, PSHE or ASDAN as required.
