Are you a religion and philosophy teacher looking to play a key role in a high achieving department in one of the most over-subscribed and popular Academies in the country?

Harris City Academy Crystal Palace is seeking an NQT or more experienced English teacher to join our exciting and innovative team from September 2016. English is a successful and high performing department at all key stages.
Harris City Academy Crystal Palace is a mixed Academy for 1,300 students aged 11-18, with a large sixth form of over 330 students. The Academy has three consecutive Outstanding judgments by Ofsted, with the most recent inspection in 2014 finding the Academy to be Outstanding in every aspect. We are a consistently high performing school; in 2015, 82% of our students achieved 5+A* to C including English and Maths. Our motto, ‘All Can Achieve’ encapsulates our vision that all members of the Academy community are supported and encouraged to achieve their absolute potential.

As a Teaching School, we are able to offer all teachers an extensive programme of first class professional development and a vibrant learning community giving all the opportunities to excel. All NQTs have a mentor within the Academy and are also part of the Federation NQT programme. Within our Academy staffing structures, we are able to offer supported pathways to senior positions based on your ability and talent and not just experience.

Harris City Academy Crystal Palace opened as Harris CTC in 1990 and converted to an academy in September 2007. The academy is a mixed school for 1,300 students aged 11-18 recruiting students from Croydon, Bromley, Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth. The academy has twice been judged to be outstanding by Ofsted, with the most recent inspection judging the school to be outstanding in every aspect.
