Job overview

NQTs welcome

Classteacher: English

Opened in Ongar in September 2015, we are a brand new non fee-paying 11-18 mixed comprehensive school.

Heavily oversubscribed, the academy is built on the principle of offering opportunity for all to achieve at the very highest level. Focussing on STEM, students are challenged and stretched, enjoying a higher than average amount of English lessons each week.

We are now recruiting for the staff who will take the school forward into the new multi-million pound, purpose built facilities over the next year. Our motto ‘Affectare ad Optimum’ translates as ‘Aspire to Greatness’ and that is precisely what you will be doing alongside our inspiring Headteacher, our parents and students. With the new Sixth Form opening in 2017, we will grow gradually and organically to our full roll of 800 students over the next few years and so an ability to teach A-level or at least a willingness to learn is desirable.

An enthusiastic practitioner, your ability with the subject will be matched by your passion for raising attainment and ability to inspire excellence in students and colleagues alike. This is a school with high expectations and these expectations are shared by our staff team. Ambitious and committed to improve, there will be an opportunity for you to take advantage of the career and development opportunities that only a new school can offer. This truly is the chance of a lifetime - the chance to be involved with the development of a culture and ethos that will transform the lives of students.

The Headteacher and Governing Body are committed to supporting you at every stage. We want the best teachers for our students and champions of the subject to engage and enthuse the generations to come. You have the chance to join us in what is proving to be an extraordinary journey for all involved.
