English Teacher for High School

The Institute of Applied Technology, based in the United Arab Emirates was founded in 2005 through Royal decree of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Abu Dhabi to offer Career-based Technical Education (CTE) in English at the secondary and tertiary levels.  The vision is to produce the scientists, engineers and technicians needed for the UAE to build knowledge based economy.

The Institute has grown significantly from five to sixteen high schools located across all the seven emirates of the UAE.  They provide distinctive secondary school programs that integrate career and technical education with a rigorous academic core.

We are looking to hire English Teachers for the New Academic year 2022/23 due to growth and increased student numbers.

Applicants must have minimum a Bachelor degree in English Literature/Language OR Applied Linguistics with a teaching qualification like CELTA/TEFL/DELTA and minimum of 3 years of post-qualification high school teaching experience.   Fluency in English should be minimum at the level of Academic  IELTS band 8. Candidate must demonstrate ability to enhance learning through effective integration of ICT into professional practice. Local candidates (based in the UAE) should have the Equivalency certificates and teacher’s license.

Additional Details

• Experience in second language acquisition 

• Strategies to support English as a second language to students 

• Qualified as IELTS Examiners (preferred)

• Experience with Advanced Placement courses and exams

• Experience with TOEFL

• Experience in teaching Technical English

• Familiarity with Web 2.0 Tools

• Online teaching and learning skills using different
